Maryville R-2 receives bronze award for providing free and reduced meals to students

The Maryville School district has been actively involved in providing free meals to students in need this summer.
Superintendent of Maryville R-2 Becky Albrecht says the program provides a great opportunity to summer school students.

"During our summer school session, we provide two meals a day, breakfast and lunch, on basically the same process we do throughout the school year as far as students that qualify for free and reduced lunch.  We just think it's a great opportunity to be able to provide two hot appetizing meals to students during the school session."

The Maryville school district is one of five districts in Missouri to be honored by the United States Department of Agriculture for its summer school lunch program, receiving a bronze award.
